Sam Haren leads the appellate practice at MNB and is the firm’s go-to lawyer for high-stakes briefing. He has built a well-deserved reputation for precise, persuasive briefing that has turned cases at both trial and appellate levels.
Sam handles the bulk of the firm’s dispositive motion practice, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and responses, bringing sharp analysis and clear advocacy to complex disputes. Sam’s practice spans business litigation and appeals, with particular experience in breach of contract, corporate governance, and fraud matters.
Before turning to litigation, Sam began his career in the corporate-securities section of Andrews Kurth, where he worked on public offerings and corporate governance matters. He then served with the Texas Finance Commission, enforcing regulations on consumer creditors, before moving into private practice. Since 2009, Sam has dedicated his career to civil litigation. He joined MNB in 2012 and became a partner in 2018.
A native of central Texas, Sam combines deep appellate knowledge with practical business insight, making him an indispensable resource for both trial teams and clients navigating complex disputes.
